In December 2007, I emailed Senator John McCain asking that he please help
get a fair trial for Joel K. Barr. I explained that although I was a resident of
California, that Joel K. Barr was in prison, in Arizona, for crimes never committed.
Joel Barr is the younger brother of Lt. Commander John Barr, a man that was in
the same flying squadron as McCain. But, McCain handed me off, very fast, to my
Senator, Barbara Boxer. To me, that is McCain's tacit approval of the "good ol'
boys" system that Arizona applies to persons who push back against a system that
only listens to you if you have money. I emailed McCain again, explaining that I was
asking for help for a resident of Arizona.
